Modena, Fondazione Collegio S. Carlo, Chiesa di S. Carlo: “San Carlo comunica gli appestati”, di Sebastiano Caula. Nato a Modena nel 1637 e morto nella stessa città nel 1724, Caula fu protagonista insieme a Francesco Stringa del panorama pittorico estense tra il XVII e XVIII secolo. Figlio del Nobile Sebastiano Medici Caula, fu allievo di Jean Boulanger e studiò a Venezia, restando influenzato dalla scuola di Tiziano, Tintoretto e Veronese.
Modena, St. Charles College Foundation, St. Charles Church: “St. Charles gives the holy communion to the plague victims”, by Sigismondo Caula. The painter was born in Modena in 1637 and died in the same city in 1724. He was the protagonist of the Este pictorial panorama together with Francesco Stringa between the 17th and 18th centuries. He was the son of the noble Sebastiano Medici Caula and he was a pupil of Jean Boulanger. Furthermore he studied in Venice, remaining influenced by the school of Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese.
