Nautical Map of the Aegean Sea, by Jean François Roussin. It was realised in Venice in 1673 and it is kept in the Royal Library of Turin. This institution, that was created by Carlo Alberto di Savoia Carignano in 1831, is one of the most important libraries in Italy. In addition to drawings by Leonardo and Raphael, its collections include many ancient nautical charts. They are significant as that they reveal the state of the geographical knowledge of the time and  are distinguished by an extreme care and aesthetic refinement.
