Hall of Troy, Eastern Wall and Vault:
"Patroclus Death"

Bottom
The dramatic fight around the corpse of Patroclus, died in battle, is depicted in the Eastern wall of the vault. In the frame below (above the fireplace between the two windows ) the death of the achaean leader Ajax is depicted, electrocuted on a rock by the offended Minerva. The execution of both frescoes is attributed to Fermo Ghisoni, based on a design by Giulio Romano.
