Assisi, Upper Basilica of St. Francis,
South Transept: Stained Glass Windows of the Quadriphora

Bottom
Assisi, Upper Basilica of St. Francis, southern transept: the stained glass windows. They were probably made around 1275 with additions to the upper part in 1943-49. In the two openings on the left, episodes of Genesis are described within medallions; in the two openings on the right instead, Virgins enthroned are represented within the tabernacle. In the two quadrilobes above you can admire The Blessing Christ between St. Francis and St. Anthony of Padua and The Virgin and Child between Isaiah and Jeremiah.
