Map of the Reggiana Canal and the Surrounding Mirandola Territory

Map of the Mirandola territory between the Panaro River, Cavo Mandrioli, and San Biagio. To His Serene Highness Rinaldo d'Este, in response to a petition made by Count Federico Pico della Mirandola in 1595 regarding the waters of Fossa Reggiana. Paper on canvas, ink, cm. l57 x 74 State Archives of Modena, Estense Map, Large Maps, no. … "Drawing of the current course of Fossa Reggiana. In which no water from Mirandola can be seen to enter, except that of the Fossetta de’ Pascoli, under the jurisdiction of the Most Serene Chamber… It is absolutely false that the waters of S. Felice, if they were not channeled into Fossa Reggiana, would spread straight across the Mirandola area… This forces Count Federico Pico to accept the Provisional one in 1600, which must not be continued at present, because it was made by the Most Serene Duke Cesare without prejudice to the Reasons of the Parties.” Massimo Scarabelli, Mirandola, July 1728
